Welcome!
I’m Anne, a Californian by way of Toronto. Now I melt live in Las Vegas with my two girls, two cats and husband.
Before motherhood I worked in Hollywood as a development executive. It was creative, fun, and sometimes silly (like when it involved kissing George Clooney).
I’ve been telling stories my whole life. As a child I had two imaginary friends. One bad. One good. I spun elaborate tales about the the bad one being responsible for all my misdeeds. And really, he was. As a Hollywood exec I turned ideas into stories and stories into films. As a mother I’ve found a rapt audience for my stories in my girls. Every night Katie says, “tell us a story, mama.” As a blogger I turn prompts, photos, memories, and recipes into stories.
I believe the stories we tell are the threads that make up the fabric of our lives and that all our stories are worth sharing.
So what am I doing now? Writing stories, baking with chocolate and trying to stay cool.
Here’s a sampling of my mix:
Parenting two girls (not always joy and bliss but it can be sweetly rewarding)
Hollywood (not as glam as it sounds)
Living in Los Angeles Las Vegas (I’m still adjusting to that one)
Chocolate (yum! choco recipes)
If you want to read about why I named my blog Sugar Bowl Mix read this.
I’m so glad you’re here. I look forward to getting to know your mix.

These are my stories about surviving Hollywood, parenting two girls, and relocating to Las Vegas from Los Angeles, all while consuming a lot of chocolate.
